Update #2 - FairyABC on Halloween

Hi guys, I'm back again!

I'm pretty sure you're all saying 'oh come on already' now.

But...I come with some exciting news!

Today when I logged in on FairyABC I accidentally ended up in a new place that was placed this weekend as a part of the party event for Halloween - which is today by the way so happy Halloween!
As I was saying....It took a little flying around until I read the name of the place - 'Halloween Meadow - Outisde of Pumpkin'.

I also saw a sign that said 'Inside Pumpkin'.

The entrance to this place is a pink square next to the pumpkin in Havendish Square that says 'Eat Me.' I tried several times thinking I'd get a Silly Sweet but instead I kept ending up in the Halloween Meadow over and over again,

Here's how you get there via pictures:

Also, to demonstrate this a bit better I've taken the liberty of creating a short clip:

I hope you like it and I hope you're having an awesome Halloween!

Now, I'm leaving you to go trick-or-treating and have some fun!

See you soon!

FairyABC - Halloween Party ~ Night 1

Hey everyone!

You really didn't think I was done for the day did you?

Nope, I wasn't. In fact, I was waiting for a special thing to get itself prepared for you to see.

Now, as you all know thanks to the FairyABC forum's admins - there was a two-night party/event going on at FairyABC this past weekend!

That's right, last Saturday and Sunday were dedicated to today's holiday for the US, UK and everyone else who celebrates it even if their country doesn't - Halloween!

Wind Muddle and his crew came up with a brilliant way to drop a little surprise for us during an event. The surprise was a small, but for us major update in the game - the adding of the Silly Sweets.

Now, in the upper left corner of the game screen right under the map symbol you'll see a cupcake button. ( In case you don't see it right away, just refresh the game and it'll show up.)
Click it and you'll get a list of all the Silly Sweets you currently have - they'll be displayed in a row one next to the other on the bottom half of the game screen. You'll see them, don't worry. When you eat any of them you get to shoot fireworks, become an ice cream or even a Snowman!

Back to the topic - the party....

It all started out with us hanging around at Havendish Square:

Then, we started using the Silly Sweets and well....Take a look for yourselves:

By then, even more Fairies had arrived and joined us. All of their costumes were very creative and unique too!

What went on afterwards was pretty much us being bored and waiting for the party to start while chatting and counting down the minutes till its beginning.

Later on, it did start....And it was pixietastic!

This was taken while we were all gathering at the Ballroom - the main place for the party. I don't really know If the others moved in the Tearoom later on, because I wasn't around to see - I had to go sleep because in my timezone it was 2 am.

Anyways, before I did leave......

Fawn made a surprise appearance and so did one other person you can notice wearing a Pixie Pals heart in this picture - our very own beloved creator ( and for some of us boss :p ) - Wind Muddle himself. Nora as you can notice was there too and so was Violet.

It was amazing to see everyone gathered like this in such a huge number for one event. Imagine how many more might show up for future events like this!

But, let us not stop the surprise drop-ins there now.

Another friendly face showed himself up for the first time ever in this remake - The Minister of Autumn!

Of course he might not look as fancy as the original - but he was super nice to everyone and he complemented our masks and gave us Silly Sweets - 20 for each Fairy & Sparrow man!

And....When we thought the surprise visits were actually over ...

Tinkerbell. I didn't notice she was even there until a fairy screamed in the chat 'Tink is here!' - then of course I had to fly around and spot her in the crowd - but it wasn't that hard nobody was disguised as her - luckily.

And for real this time, that was about it from the famous fairy/sparrow man visits.

Next, in this post I'm going to make a showcase of all the costumes I had with a picture of who I was disguised as.

~   Cheshire Kitty - A rebel from Ever After High  ~

~ Clawdeen Wolf  from Monster High ~

~ Hermione Granger from the 'Harry Potter' movies ~

~ Alya from the 'Miraculous Ladybug' series ~

Yeah, I know I had a LOT of costume changes - and none of these were easy to pull off!

There were other great fairies and sparrow men out there too - I even saw a pretty Belle from 'Beauty and The Beast' ( Violet )!
Also, I spotted a Harry Potter fairy - Harmony Magicheart who actually changed my mind and thus Hermione Pixie was born.

The reason why I became Alya later was my other best friend Shinymist aka Harmony Songera. She had disguised herself as Marinette from 'Miraculous Ladybug' so as her best friend I decided to be Alya - Marinette's best friend in the series.

Cheshire Kitty & Clawdeen Wolf were kinda inspired by the shows themselves. I love both shows and I decided to dress up as a character from each of them.

So, now for the grand finale of this post - a video of the whole atmosphere in the Ballroom on night one of the party.

( you can also look up TheMix on Youtube to watch this and a few other FairyABC - related videos I have! - Thanks if you do that :3 )

So, that's about it for this one, folks!

Hope you liked everything that you saw - and comment below to guess the others' disguises in the video above - and also .....  For reading this you've earned yourself not only a break but also a spooktakular reward!!

Wait - break sound - what?!

Yes, that's right. Every single reader of this and the previous post can take this reward as a token of the spirit of Halloween. This means that you've visited my blog on Halloween 2016 and read my Halloween - related posts.

Did you know? - Halloween

Hi everyone!

Today, I've decided - in honor of the most awesome holiday tomorrow - to make a special post.

We all know what day it is tomorrow though, don't we?

Of course we do.

It's that time of the year, where we all wear our costumes ( most of us ), go from door to door and annoy neighbors into giving us their stashes of candy and coins. ( unless they want to end up glued on a chair.)

However, do we really know what this holiday is all about?? Has Halloween always been the holiday we know today, or is there a dark mysterious origin few only know about?

To answer this, I've been searching the deep web....

It was deep.

And dark.

But I made it.

So, here is what Halloween actually used to be about - a short version of a very long explanation I found.

Straddling the line between fall and winter, plenty and paucity, life and death, Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is thought to have originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off roaming ghosts. In the eighth century, Pope Gregory III designated November 1 as a time to honor all saints and martyrs; the holiday, All Saints’ Day, incorporated some of the traditions of Samhain. The evening before was known as All Hallows’ Eve and later Halloween. Over time, Halloween evolved into a secular, community-based event characterized by child-friendly activities such as trick-or-treating. In a number of countries around the world, as the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, people continue to usher in the winter season with gatherings, costumes and sweet treats.

To be honest, I didn't know this myself until I learned about it in a class I'm currently taking at university. It's called British Culture and Civilization and learning about the people who used to inhabit Britain and are inhabiting it today is a part of it.

Since we had to go through that, it meant learning about the Celts too. They're a part of many people who've inhabited the British mainland and they along with the other types of people who've inhabited the UK later on are the roots of today's inhabitants - their ancestors.

There are many other things connected to Halloween such as.....

THE SUPERSTITIONS

"Halloween has always been a holiday filled with mystery, magic and superstition. It began as a Celtic end-of-summer festival during which people felt especially close to deceased relatives and friends. For these friendly spirits, they set places at the dinner table, left treats on doorsteps and along the side of the road and lit candles to help loved ones find their way back to the spirit world. Today’s Halloween ghosts are often depicted as more fearsome and malevolent, and our customs and superstitions are scarier too. We avoid crossing paths with black cats, afraid that they might bring us bad luck. This idea has its roots in the Middle Ages  when many people believed that witches avoided detection by turning themselves into cats. We try not to walk under ladders for the same reason. This superstition may have come from the ancient Egyptians, who believed that triangles were sacred; it also may have something to do with the fact that walking under a leaning ladder tends to be fairly unsafe. And around Halloween, especially, we try to avoid breaking mirrors, stepping on cracks in the road or spilling salt.
But what about the Halloween traditions and beliefs that today’s trick-or-treaters have forgotten all about? Many of these obsolete rituals focused on the future instead of the past and the living instead of the dead. In particular, many had to do with helping young women identify their future husbands and reassuring them that they would someday—with luck, by next Halloween—be married. In 18th-century Ireland, a matchmaking cook might bury a ring in her mashed potatoes on Halloween night, hoping to bring true love to the diner who found it. In Scotland, fortune-tellers recommended that an eligible young woman name a hazelnut for each of her suitors and then toss the nuts into the fireplace. The nut that burned to ashes rather than popping or exploding, the story went, represented the girl’s future husband. (In some versions of this legend, confusingly, the opposite was true: The nut that burned away symbolized a love that would not last.) Another tale had it that if a young woman ate a sugary concoction made out of walnuts, hazelnuts and nutmeg before bed on Halloween night she would dream about her future husband. Young women tossed apple-peels over their shoulders, hoping that the peels would fall on the floor in the shape of their future husbands’ initials; tried to learn about their futures by peering at egg yolks floating in a bowl of water; and stood in front of mirrors in darkened rooms, holding candles and looking over their shoulders for their husbands’ faces. Other rituals were more competitive. At some Halloween parties, the first guest to find a burr on a chestnut-hunt would be the first to marry; at others, the first successful apple-bobber would be the first down the aisle.
Of course, whether we’re asking for romantic advice or trying to avoid seven years of bad luck, each one of these Halloween superstitions relies on the good will of the very same “spirits” whose presence the early Celts felt so keenly."

So you see - Halloween used to be a big deal back centuries ago and today it's just providing us the fun of a lifetime with games and other activities and treats available only once a year every year.

Come on then, what are you waiting for? Go out there, turn those stores upside down, find your costume and face your neighbors head-on for treats or try your luck at making some tricks.

In any case, gather your friends and have some real fangrific fun!

p.s. Don't get a sugar rush! Watch your sugar level - even though it tastes good it might cause some minor difficulties later.

Thank you so much for reading and have an awesome day!

My closet in autumn

Hey guys, how's it going?

Today, I kinda got inspired to do a fashion - related post. So, basically I took over Stella's job for a day ( though not entirely ) and decided to share with you tips for autumn-wear and of course a few of my favorite outfits I have on every autumn!

So, let's begin. Before I do this however I do have a thought to share with you. At first I had an idea to make a Pixie Closet of some sorts - but then I realized I could do something even better. What if I made a pixie magazine?

Now, I know what you all are going to say - 'The Pixie Press already exists' -

Well, I know this and I know the kind of things they post about. I was thinking that perhaps I can do something unique - a monthly issue of the magazine and each would have a cover. This is still just a thought - If I decide to do it I'll let you all know.

And now - let's finally begin:

As you can see my style varies according to the weather. This past week has been wet - which meant I had to pay special attention to foot-wear and my wings.

That's why when I took a stroll the other day I made sure to take an umbrella with me - made out of perfect flower pedals who don't get soaked and dry out easily.

Do you like it? I sure do! That's my rainy day outfit. You can notice I wear rubber boots - trust me when there are puddles they're your best friends.

And of course, the message of the day is - Keep your wings dry!!

Now, before I leave you to enjoy your Friday I'd like to inform you that the story I've been working on has one chapter completed and is most likely going to be posted over on this blog's Wattpad for the extended weekend ( it's a holiday irl in my country so c: ).

Well, that was it - I hope you enjoyed my post and I'll see you all very soon!

Keep yourself safe and dry!

News regarding this blog

Hey everyone!!

I'd like to start this post off with an apology to every single reader no matter If you've been active or not for not updating sooner.

I honestly ( until today ) had no idea what to post about, since there's not much going on at FairyABC & the Pixie Blogging Community.

The other bloggers have also been busy with their own real lives, even though they're always around just like me.

Now, I'd like to start off with the news.

First off, I'd like to inform you that the blog has finally been redecorated to look a little more Halloween-ey than before and I hope you like it.

Secondly, I've been giving this following thing so much thought and I've decided the following:

You all know that behind the five fairies on this blog is always one person, but because I like using them all you see more than one 'writer' post almost always.

However, after thinking it through I've decided that only one of these five fairies should be signing off the posts from now on - that is I decided that from this day forward Juniper is our News Pixie.
She'll be in charge of posting news and keeping you informed.

As for the other four, well they already have their jobs.

Stella is stuck with her Fashion Spotlight, Harmony's developing new pictures for her Camera Roll tab and Amber's going to be in charge of putting up stories on Wattpad since well - Animal talents have that writing talent in them as well. Of course, with this being said, it won't be only Amber who'll be in the stories, but she'll be 'in charge' of the Wattpad associated with this  blog.

Regarding the Wattpad ( whose link is on the home page as a button ), I'd also like to inform you If you haven't already seen that all the new stories are going straight there from now on.

I'll inform you when they get posted so you can head over there and take a look and there's always gonna be a cover  picture - link to it within the post.

Now, another heads up from me.

I've been working on a plan as to what this Wattpad I mentioned before should include aside from Pixie Hollow - related stories and I've come to realize that not only these stories could be added there. I've been working on some other things which are also magic-related and are a part of the  fantasy genre just like our Pixie Hollow so I'll add those stories there as well - that way you'll always have different things to read not just Pixie Hollow stories.

I am really sorry that this post turned out to be 29437837549 miles long but I really needed to explain to you guys how things are gonna go on from now.

Also, I hope that you didn't think I'd leave you all again...Because let's face it, I thought of leaving two years ago and look at me today - back here at the very place I wanted to leave.

Lastly ( this is the part where you say 'amen sister'  ) keep coming back because there's going to be a new story available - well the first chapter of it anyways and I really think it's going to be worth your time!

Still working on a title for it, but I think it's going to be up one of these days.

Meanwhile, If I post something else over on Wattpad - together with the post on this Pixie Hollow story I've been working on I'll let you know about the others as well.

And now, it was so nice to talk to you all and I hope you had fun reading and learning of all the new things coming your way!

Fly with you all later,
